NH UXPA September Meeting – Scaling UX within High-Growth Organizations

What do we really mean by scaling UX? Is it just about headcount? Can’t we just throw more bodies on the problem? Well as you can imagine, it’s not that simple. Just like great UX, there’s way more than meets the eye when it comes to designing organizations and scaling teams. Susan will share her experience in scaling the impact of UX while playing catch up to the growth of product management and engineering. She’ll focus on people, processes, and tools as necessary elements to scale effectively.

Susan Rice leads user experience strategy, research, and design at Workiva, resulting in best-in-class user experiences to simplify complex work. She has deep expertise in enterprise, B2B, and B2C applications across many industries, particularly in high-growth organizations. Susan is passionate about motivating and coaching team members in a psychologically safe and fun environment.

Susan holds a M.S. in Human Factors in Information Design from Bentley University and a B.A. in Psychology from U.C. Santa Barbara. She’s actively involved in the UX community and enjoys presenting on strategy, leadership, design thinking, and organizational change.
