The NH Tech Alliance has come together with the Devine Millimet law firm to offer a three-part exit planning seminar series designed to help company owners who may be seeking to sell, merge or leave their business in the coming year. The morning seminars are free and will take place over the course of three weeks in the fall at Devine Millimet’s offices in downtown Manchester.
The seminars will include speakers from Devine Millimet’s mergers and acquisitions (M&A) team who will share best practices and strategies for business owners that are looking to get out of their business. The three seminars in the series will be stand-alone in terms of subject-matter. Attendees are welcome to attend one seminar or all three, as the topics will be separate but will build off of one another.
“Whether you are three years or 15 years away from looking to leave your business, there are many steps to consider throughout the process,” said Angela B. Martin, shareholder and vice-chair of Devine Millimet’s M&A team. “We will attempt to demystify the process in order to prepare you as much as possible when the time comes to make this significant decision.”
Presenters from Devine Millimet’s M&A team will include Angela B. Martin, Steve Cohen, Kerry Kehoe Battles, Margaret “Peg” O’Brien and Joseph P. Rheaume.
Angela B. Martin is a shareholder and vice-chair of the M&A team who focusses on general business law. She is co-founder and chair of the firm’s startup team, which created the Business Launch Initiative, an award-winning program that provides legal assistance to startup enterprises. Martin received her law degree from Northeastern University School of Law.

Cohen was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of M&A, corporate law and tax law. Cohen is a certified public accountant with a degree from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and he earned his law degree and master’s degree in taxation from Boston University School of Law.
Kerry Kehoe Battles is of counsel at Devine, Millimet and Branch. Her practice focuses on general business law with a specialty in mergers and acquisitions. Battles received her law degree from Massachusetts School of Law.
Margaret “Peg” O’Brien serves as the chair of the labor and employment practice group, which represents employers in all aspects of employment work, primarily aiding clients with risk management and defense in the event of an employment claim or government audit. O’Brien earned her Juris Doctor degree from George Washington University, and is past chair of the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section.
