TechWomen|TechGirls is a NH Tech Alliance initiative focused on building a strong community of female professionals enthusiastic about technology and supporting efforts where girls are exploring STEM as a career or area of study. TechWomen|TechGirls holds programs for professional women to connect, educate and explore ideas around career development, technology initiatives and innovation. The community also deploys volunteers to support academic STEM initiatives and events for girls happening all over New Hampshire.
Today’s current statistics show that although 49% of the workforce is women and 57% of all college graduates are women, only 26% of the US IT workforce is made up of women. Numbers get even lower when you look at US Computer Science graduates (18%) and US Computer Programming graduates (13%). Despite the growth in technology opportunities and the continued demand for qualified workers, the statistics show that women remain in the minority. With these staggering statistics, changes are needed in how we think about the pipeline and the retention of women in technology.
Each month throughout the year, an amazing group of tech professionals come together to network, share inspirational stories, grow professionally and personally. Our breakfast series empowers everyone who joins us to think differently in so many ways and all before 9:00 am on a Wednesday. With a list of incredible speakers over the last few years, those who have attended can tell you that there is no other event in our great state of New Hampshire quite like this. The feeling you will leave with and the relationships you will create at these breakfasts will stay with you long after the breakfast is over.
The breakfasts are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Check out the NHTA Calendar for the latest updates.
To learn more about this monthly breakfast, please contact committee co-chairs Paige Yeater, [email protected], and Catherine Yao, [email protected].

The TechWomen Connect & Awards is the biggest networking event of the year for female tech professionals. The event is interactive and is designed to make connections among the attendees. We also highlight women and girls who are making a significant impact in our local technology environment by awarding the Tech Student, Educator and Professional of the Year Awards. This event brings together technologists, entrepreneurs and business leaders from throughout the state to celebrate and highlight the impact that women are making in technology.
As with all Alliance events, this event is only made possible with the diligent effort of a committee of women who focus year-round on this event.
If you would like more information about the event, contact Shannon Herrmann for more information at [email protected].
The Alliance has built a database of female tech professionals who are interested in speaking with students. Twice a year the Alliance sends out the list to schools across New Hampshire so that students can hear directly from those in the industry about what their job is like. Those who sign up as speakers are passionate about helping young girls explore STEM careers. To be included on the list, use the link below to enter your information.
