So, What do You do, Exactly?

When I am asked about what exactly the NH High Tech Council does, the first thing that comes to mind is “connecting.” By the mere virtue of what our day jobs are, we can find any piece of information at anytime, anywhere. It’s what we do. However, what the Council does is package that information, add context and provide it in a neat and tidy package. Case in point: biweekly email updates, which are a compilation of news you can use, news from other members, and ways to connect with others in your field, right here where you work and play. We send these out every other Monday. Sign up for them here if you don’t get them already.

Bi-weekly Council news
In addition to the hallmark events the Council holds every year (such as Entrepreneur of the Year and Product of the Year awards and events; and our TechOut startup pitch competition), we also hold a variety of programs and monthly events. Our TechWomen/TechGirls committee hosted more than 850 women to hear from ten leading female technology entrepreneurs through the launch of the Power Breakfast series, for example. And most recently we added support for a variety of technology user groups already in place across New Hampshire. Whether you are an SQL guy, a JavaScript gal, or eager to learn about new systems, solutions or technology, we can make sure you are in the loop about the next Meetup (or opportunity to grab cocktails at the end of a work day). The bottom line is that we all work in our silos and days can become a vacuum. The Council helps offset this by finding innovative ways for us to step out and connect.

NH Tech – a partnership with NH Business Review
And don’t forget: through our partnership with NH Business Review (a weekly technology news roundup emailed every Thursday, affectionately called NH Tech), we contribute weekly news about YOU that we want the rest of the tech industry to know. Nicely compiled, pulled from a variety of credible sources and completely relevant, it’s another great way to connect (subscribe online if you haven’t already at nhbr.com). Add us to your media list and send us press releases or information about your latest and greatest, and we will be sure to share it.

Social media
Our social media platforms are very active and serve as a great place to share information, congratulate a recent event winner, or ask questions of one another. Over 4,300 people like you are active on our social media platforms and it grows every day. Not engaged with us on social media? Follow us on Twitter or LinkedIn and like us on Facebook!

Think of the Council as your back office on serving you up ways to connect and to dig a little deeper into your tech industry.
