NH Tech Alliance Welcomes Three New Directors to Its Board and Appoints Emily Penaskovic as Vice Chair

The New Hampshire Tech Alliance (Alliance) is proud to announce the appointment of three new members to its board of directors: Jeff Chu, Flo Nicolas, and Joseph Bator. Additionally, Emily B. Penaskovic has been appointed to the Alliance’s executive committee as Vice Chair. Penaskovic has served on the Alliance board for six years and is currently a shareholder at Sheehan Phinney, representing entrepreneurs and high-growth companies across the business lifecycle, from guiding founders at the earliest stages, to assisting with equity and debt financings through the growth stages, to negotiating later stage exits.

Jeff Chu brings over two decades of experience as a seasoned MedTech technologist, inventor, entrepreneur, advisor, and investor. He is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Features Capital, a VC firm focused on healthcare innovations. Prior to this, he built and scaled a leading consultancy in medical device and consumer health product development. Jeff also co-founded the non-profit MedTech Collaborative, aiming to establish Northern New England as a MedTech innovation hub. He is an active board member and advisor to several organizations, holds a dozen patents, and serves as an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at Northeastern University and Dartmouth College.

Flo Nicolas is a lawyer, emerging technology thought leader, and global author on legal operations in the age of AI and data. She is the Founder and Chief Data and Innovation Strategist at Get Tech Smart, where she helps organizations leverage data analytics for project success. Flo serves on the NextGen Valley Resiliency Council and played a key role in securing a $44 million grant for the Build Back Better Regional Challenge. Recognized for her advocacy in STEAM education and diversity in tech, Flo has received numerous accolades including NH Business Review Outstanding Women in Business 2023 and NH Tech Alliance Tech Professional of the Year 2023.

Joseph Bator is the Regional Vice President of TD Bank with extensive experience in lending and commercial banking. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President and Senior Lender at Primary Bank and Senior Vice President at Eastern Bank, where he oversaw business banking and SBA programs. Joe chairs the Granite United Way and is involved with various organizations including the Friends of Anie Foundation and Syracuse University’s Boston Regional Counsel.
