U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire and U.S. Senator Jon Tester of Montana visited Sunrise Labs to learn what they can do in Washington to better support small businesses.
During the visit, the senators toured Sunrise Labs’ Bedford headquarters and engaged with employees to hear their concerns. From a business perspective, supply chain challenges were on the top of the list. Senator Hassan explained the efforts that are under way to invest in, and reshore American manufacturing, which will help strengthen domestic supply chains. “Sunrise Labs is one of many innovative New Hampshire businesses that are critical to moving our state and country forward. It was great to join Senator Tester yesterday in Bedford to speak with employees about our bipartisan work in Congress to bring manufacturing back to America, lower costs, and strengthen our economy.” — Senator Maggie Hassan
Another top concern is the global effects of climate change. Both senators detailed how recent bipartisan legislation is addressing solutions for a stronger clean energy future. With the November 8th election looming next week, concerns around political stability were discussed. Both senators stressed the importance of electing leaders who accept and abide by the vote of the people, otherwise those leaders are accountable to no one and we risk losing our fragile democracy.
