TechWomen Awards Winners Announced!

The TechWomen Awards honor three exceptional women in the technology industry – Tech Student of the Year, Tech Educator of the Year, and Tech Professional of the Year – for their achievements and contributions in the field in 2024. Honorees have demonstrated a commitment to supporting STEM/Technology education and advancing the role of women and girls in technology.

Tech Student of the Year: Caitlin Seiler 

Caitlin Seiler is an 11th grade student at the Academy for Science and Design public charter school in Nashua. She aspires to study Biomedical Engineering in order to help develop improved solutions so people with injuries and chronic illness live safer, healthier lives. She has taken advanced coursework in Biology, Biotechnology, Engineering, and Coding, and worked as a Lab Assistant in the Life Science department at a local community college. She has also participated in ARMI’s Biotrek competition twice.

Tech Educator of the Year: Jessica Carcerano-Wheeler

Meet Jessica Carcerano-Wheeler: A Passionate STEM Educator. Jessica Carcerano-Wheeler is a dedicated STEM educator who brings science to life with hands-on, engaging experiences. With 19 years of teaching experience, she creates dynamic learning opportunities that spark curiosity and innovation. Before entering the classroom, Jessica worked at the Boston Museum of Science and Zoo Miami, where she developed exhibits and led educational programs.

Now teaching at Cooperative Middle School in Stratham, New Hampshire, she introduces students to the world of 3D printing, drone coding, and underwater robotics. Committed to fostering a love of science and math, she is especially passionate about encouraging more girls to explore these fields.

Outside the classroom, Jessica enjoys life on her small farm with her family, caring for a pony named Tony and three goats. Her expertise, creativity, and enthusiasm inspire students to become confident, curious problem-solvers.

Tech Professional of the Year: Rebecca Woods

Rebecca Woods, founder of Bluebird Leaders, is an accomplished senior executive, with more than 18 years of experience in IT and healthcare administration. She is known for her expertise in helping hospitals and ambulatory health systems implement and utilize their electronic health records (EHR) efficiently and effectively. Throughout her career, Rebecca has used her strong engagement skills, extensive operational knowledge and strength in building teams to achieve her career success.

Currently, Rebecca is the founder of Propel Health Advisors, which offers a full range of support and consulting services for healthcare and information technology organizations. She also is the founder of Bluebird Tech Solutions, a certified women’s owned business. Prior to starting her own company in New Hampshire, she was the Vice President of Provider Services for LRGHealthcare in the state. A Vice President and Chief Information Officer for the University of Vermont’s Porter Medical Center, Rebecca had department oversight of Information Technology, Medical Records, Central Access Center, Education, Plant Operations and Compliance.

During her career, Rebecca has focused on meeting each organization’s needs by increasing efficiency and implementing transitional and sustainable changes. She has been recognized for her excellent leadership, valuable insight and ability to assist in setting the path for long-lasting success.

Rebecca received a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix after obtaining a Bachelor of Science in communications from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters and leading an active lifestyle competing in triathlons, running races (including a marathon) and boating with her family.

The TechWomen Award winners will be honored on May 28th at the TechWomen Connect and Awards. The awards reception will be a must-attend event for women in technology, featuring fun and interactive activities, delicious food and drinks and networking opportunities. 

The event will be held at the Fidelity offices in Merrimack. Attendees will learn about the incredible work being done by the three award winners. Registration is now open.
