New Hampshire Tech Alliance’s November 14th TechWomen Power Breakfast – Leaning in Without Falling Over
Janice DiPietro, founder and chief executive officer of Exceptional Leaders International, headlines the New Hampshire Tech Alliance’s (Alliance and formerly the New Hampshire High Tech Council), TechWomen Power Breakfast with a discussion on “Leaning In Without Leaning Over” on Wednesday, November 14 from 7:30 to 9 am at the Portsmouth Country Club, 80 Country Club Lane in Greenland.
DiPietro will discuss how ambitious women who rise through the ranks of corporate structures are often mislabeled with negative monikers. Despite having made significant headway, women are not achieving the types of gains anticipated in leadership roles when compared to their educational achievements an job performance. Why is this the case and what can be done to effect the meaningful change needed? For many women who have excelled in business, playing and mastering the traditional “old boys” game has been a necessary aspect of the climb to the top.
Too often, women consume energy struggling to fit into male-driven corporate structures. It may also be difficult to help other women in the workplace for fear of displaying favoritism. Luckily, that paradigm is beginning to change, and women in positions of influence can make a true difference by fostering, supporting and lifting up other women in our fields. During this month’s discussion, we will explore the strategies to help ourselves and other women succeed and why this bodes well for business performance and the generations to follow. We’ll discuss why leaning in without falling over can work and allow us to forge our own paths forward while celebrating the uniqueness of male and female leaders.”
“In spite of the improvements in equality between men and women in senior leadership, women often struggle to fit into male-driven structures,” said Heather LaDue, member of the TechWomen Power Breakfast committee. “With more women in positions of power, they have greater opportunities to effect change in a workplace environment by fostering, supporting and lifting other women up. Janice’s discussion will shed light on how we can do this without diminishing the successes of our peers of all genders.”
