The Community College System of NH (CCSNH) has been awarded a $1.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration to enhance Registered Apprenticeship (RA) opportunities within the information technology, healthcare and advanced manufacturing sectors. This grant will support the development of new RA opportunities, provide funding for related instruction at NH’s community colleges, and support outreach to employers who wish to expand work-based learning at their sites.
Nick Soggu, SilverTech and CCSNH are hosting an information session on February 16, 2017 from 9:30 am to noon at SilverTech’s headquarters. Granite State tech sector employers interested in Registered Apprenticeships are encouraged to attend. This will be an informative session where there will be an opportunity to learn more about RA as a viable workforce solution, CCSNH’s grant, as well as a special presentation from Jennifer Carlson, executive director of the WTIA Workforce Institute who has successfully developed a pilot program for Registered Apprenticeship in the tech Industry in Washington State.
If you are a New Hampshire technology employer interested in Registered Apprenticeship and would like to attend, please email Charlotte Williams, CCSNH workforce development administrator, [email protected] or call: (603) 230-3534.
