The New Hampshire High Tech Council will host its next TechWomen|TechGirls Power Breakfast on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 7:30 to 9 am at the Manchester Country Club, 180 South River Road in Bedford. November 14 kicks off the 2nd Annual TechWomen Ambassador Week, where schools across New Hampshire will hold special sessions for ninth grade girls to discuss careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) with women currently employed in those fields. The two-hour sessions, taking place in Lebanon, Nashua, Plaistow, Rochester, Manchester, Derry and Berlin, are the center of the newly-launched TechWomen Ambassador initiative, born out of the New Hampshire High Tech Council’s TechWomen|TechGirls committee. Six New Hampshire companies have earned their spot as finalists for the 2016 NH High Tech Council’s Product of the Year (POY) Award. Congratulations to Contour Designs, Corflex, Jewell Instruments, Next Move Technologies, Orion Entrance Control Systems and Wilcox who represent the top six entries in this year’s competition. At the POY finalist event on November 10, the Council will celebrate innovative products developed in the past year. The event provides a platform for entrepreneurs and inventors to receive free advice, major product promotion, and podium time in front of hundreds of tech leaders who will then help choose the winner in real time. Three New Hampshire startup companies left Dyn this evening with a combined $100,000 in funding to take their companies to the next level after competing in the NH High Tech Council and Alpha Loft’s 2016 TechOut competition. Awato won the $50,000 first prize; Forcivity took home $30,000 and second place; and crowd-favorite, KudosWall, walked away with $20,000. First and second place awards were determined by a panel of judges comprised of business experts, entrepreneurs and venture capitalists; the third-place slot was determined solely by the evening’s audience of more than 200 people. Laconia-based Orion Entrance Control, Inc. will be the featured presenter at the December 7 Entrepreneur Forum event, one of the Council’s marquee events series, run by the New Hampshire High Tech Council. This event marks the launch of a new model for the Entrepreneur Forum – instead of two presenters and two panels, the event will focus more on the opportunity or challenge faced by the presenter that is shared with similar companies in their space and business cycle.
