The Council is re-invigorating its BioMed Cluster! As with all Council initiatives, this effort will be industry-led. The Cluster’s committee’s goal is to contribute to a more inclusive BioMed industry through a platform for sharing news and resources, creation of shared and new connections, and the amplification of the industry itself to a wider audience.  Read more

The New Hampshire High Tech Council (Council) will host its next TechWomen Power Breakfast on Wednesday, February 8 from 7:30 to 9 am at the Manchester Country Club, 180 South River Road in Bedford. The event will feature Candy Alexander, a cyber security expert with over thirty years of experience in the security industry who will speak on the life lessons she’s learned while navigating a career to remain instep with such a rapidly changing and dynamic industry. Manchester-based Emerson Ecologics will be the featured presenter at the Entrepreneur Forum on Wednesday, February 15, one of the marquee events series run by the New Hampshire High Tech Council (Council). The program, geared toward the Granite State’s entrepreneur and business community, focuses on an opportunity or challenge faced by an organization that is shared with similar companies in their space and business cycle. The global business issue to be discussed will be “changing a business model from focusing on medical professionals to the actual consumers using the products in a world of rapidly-evolving healthcare.” Read more. The 2017 legislative session kicked off in a flurry with a new Republican Governor, Chris Sununu (first Republican governor elected since 2002), many new faces in the House and Senate with Republican majorities across the board. The New Hampshire High Tech Council will be very active this year in our focal areas, one of which is tech talent development. In late 2016, I was at an event with the NH Department of Resources and Economic Development (DRED) Commissioner Jeff Rose and we were talking about ways to address the workforce shortages. Newness and change, part of a vibrant ecosystem, are certainly evident in New Hampshire. 2016 closed with two very significant announcements – Oracle’s acquisition of Dyn and the nearly $300 million commitment in federal, industry, university and nonprofit funding to launch and support an Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI) in Manchester.
