It is hard to believe as I write this that my term as Chairman of the Board of the NH High Tech Council is winding down as we head towards our annual membership meeting date on May 26. It has truly been a pleasure serving in this role, and I can honestly say that the experience has also deepened my own professional development. Working with a board of highly successful and entrepreneurial people has been enlightening and rewarding, and it’s been an honor to work with those individuals as together we steered the course of the Council over the last three years. This year, as we have for the last 28 years, the NH High Tech Council will bestow the prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) Award to an individual who has significantly advanced innovation in the Granite State over his or her career. Celebrate with the TechWoman, TechStudent and TechEducator of the Year at event on April 6
The Council’s TechWomen|TechGirls program will honor three distinguished women at the upcoming annual awards luncheon on April 6 at LaBelle Winery in Amherst, New Hampshire. The awards name and recognize the 2016 TechWoman, TechEducator, and TechStudent of the Year. The event marks the first time that the Council specifically pays tribute to women for their significant contribution to innovation, education, mentorship, entrepreneurship and courage to advance science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) for the next generation. Next week, the NH Department of Education will proudly co-sponsor the fourth annual Girls Technology Day, in partnership with the NH Community College System and the New Hampshire High Tech Council. The events will be held at NHTI, Concord’s Community College, University of New Hampshire- Durham Campus and Manchester Community College. This year’s event expanded to three campuses, reflecting the demand for more students to be able to access STEM programming in new locations. This year’s capacity is for 800 young women to attend a STEM-spirational event that will expose them to many career and postsecondary opportunities in STEM fields. Read more. Read more
